I'm an Islanders fan, so I have a general disdain for the crosstown Rangers. I am truly enjoying their second-round disaster against Pittsburgh. In addition, I have a general disdain for the kind of play that gets announcers saying stuff like "You love him if he's on your team." I'm not talking about hard hits or physical play - it's when you cross the line into cheap shots, jackassery, and agitation.
Sean Avery, of course, is both that kind of player AND a Ranger, so no, I don't care for him much. This, however, is a tough break. It isn't a heart attack as first reported in some media outlets, thank God. In any case Avery has my prayers for a full and speedy recovery.
